The Gold Coast is one of the most beautiful places on earth…ok maybe we are a little biased but it truely is an amazing place to live and visit. Hopefully these helpful travel tips can make your visit to the Gold Coast even more enjoyable!

Weather & Climate

The Gold Coast has a sub-tropical climate, and keeping with QLD’s ‘Sunshine State’ slogan, has a lot of sunny days. Summer time temperatures range from 19 to 29 degrees Celsius, with winter temps having an average of 9 to 21 degrees Celsius. The Gold Coast is a beautiful place to visit all year round however if you are coming specifically to visit the stunning beaches we’d suggest planning your trip in summer.

Accommodation

The Gold Coast has many beautiful locations to holiday so don’t just consider Surfers Paradise when researching your accommodation options. If you’re travelling on a budget we would definitely recommend looking outside of Surfers & Broadbeach & considering other beautiful places like Coolangatta, Burleigh Heads & Tallebudgera. If you’re planning your holidays around the theme parks check out locations like Helensvale or Biggera Waters. There are some great holiday parks in these areas that won’t break the bank.

Getting Around

The Gold Coast now has a light rail network called the G:Link. The G:Link provides an easy, cost effective way to get around a large portion of the Gold Coast. If you’re planning your Gold Coast getaway consider looking for accommodation close to a G:Link stop so that you’ll have easy, cost effective travel options. There are also other transport options such as buses, trains, Ubers & cabs available.

Budget Friendly Things To Do

Holidays can be expensive so if you’re looking for some budget friendly activities consider things like hiking in the hinterland, visiting the vast array of beautiful Gold Coast beaches or free bird feeding at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary.
